Child Dental Benefits Schedule

Is your child eligible for up to $1,095 free dental?

Our Medical Dental participates in the Australian Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). If you are eligible your child can receive up to $1,095 in free dental care.

Services covered under the CDBS can include:

  • check-ups
  • X-rays
  • cleaning
  • fissure sealing
  • fillings
  • root canals
  • extractions

Your child may be eligible if they:

  • are between 0 and 17 years on at least one day in the calendar year;
  • are eligible for Medicare; and
  • receive a payment from Centrelink at least once a year, or have a parent getting a Centrelink payment at least once a year - such as Family Tax Benefit A.

You can be either the child’s:

  • parent or guardian
  • approved care organisation.

At the start of each year in January, the Australian Government will check if your child is eligible for dental benefits. If your Medicare online account is linked to myGov you can check your child’s eligibility online.

To do this:
